Thank you for your interest in the Marysville Church of Christ. We hope that this page will tell you a little more about us, and what you should expect when you come to worship with us. If we haven't answered something on this page that you have a question about, please email your question by clicking on Contact Us. What should I expect when I visit? As you pull into the parking lot, you will notice that facing the building there are several parking spaces that are reserved for guest parking. Please feel free to use any of these available spaces as you park. Normally, as you enter the front of the church building you will be welcomed by one of our ushers. Once inside there will be greeters who will be there to hand you a church bulletin and to assist you in any way. They should be able to answer any questions you may have or to direct you to certain parts of our building. At the beginning of the worship time, you will be asked to fill out a card that is found in the pew in front of you. There are different cards for members and guests. This is completely voluntary, but we hope that you will fill out the guest card. The main purpose of these cards is for us to help with any needs that you may have and proivde you with information of future events. Our worship services last for about an hour or so. During that time we will sing songs of praise and worship to God, have several prayers, hear a sermon from the Bible and take communion. What should I wear? We do not have a dress code and are just thankful for your interest in worshiping God with us. However, to more directly answer this question, most people generally wear "business casual". Yes, we provide childcare during our second service on Sunday morning. As stated earlier, we take communion every week. Communion takes place near the beginning of our worship services, and everyone who wants may participate in taking communion. After the communion is over, the song leader will announce that anyone who has a child from age 3 to pre-K may exit the auditorium with their children and someone will take their child to Bible Hour which is held in the fellowship hall. Also, we have an attended nursery. This is for children from ages 1 to 3 and is held in a room near the women's restroom. After worship services are over, we ask that you go to our fellowship hall or the nursery to pick up your child. The Marysville Church of Christ has an active teen program. Each summer we have a full time youth intern hired to help support the program. These youth interns are young men from Christian colleges that are studying to become youth ministers and they bring with them knowledge and creative ideas to help our teens grow spiritually. We also have several parents that are heavily involved in the teen program throughout the year. These parents help direct this program and assist in a hands-on way. Some of the many possibilities for your teen are: * Church Camp What do you have for families? On Sunday morning at 9:00 a.m. and Wednesday evening at 7:00 p.m., we have Bible classes for all ages. On both Sunday and Wednesday, these classes last for 45 minutes. While your child enjoyes a Bible class designed for his/her age and understanding, you have the opportunity attending Bible class with other adults during this same time period. Adults normally have three classes from which to choose. One of the classes usually studies from a specific book of the Bible, whereas the other classes will be more topical, such as raising children, dealing with finances, how to overcome sin, etc. During worship at 10:00 a.m. on each Sunday morning, an attended toddler nursery is provided for children ages 1 through 3 years. Also, there is a Children's Bible Hour at the same time for ages 3 years through pre-kindergarten. Typically on the second and fourth Sunday of the month, we have Life Groups that meet. Briefly speaking, Life Groups are small group meetings of families and singles on Sunday evening. Each Life Group spends time in Bible study and prayer and typically concludes with a potluck meal. Life Groups are a great way to get to know fellow Christians. If you are interested in more information about Life Groups, please go to our Life Groups link. Please come and worship with us! |
